The
Cranston Reds host youth teams for players ranging from mites
to high school. The philosophy--to focus on developing players
through practices and skills sessions overseen by experienced,
professional coaches. Our model of two practices, one skills
session, and one weekly game provides the optimal balance
of learning and playing opportunities. Though many youth organizations
have expanded the number of games played per season, typically
at the expense of practice opportunities, it is our belief
that the 3:1 ratio of practices to games allows young players
to acquire and assimilate the skills needed to succeed in
increasingly higher levels of the sport. »

Learn To Play Hockey
Saturday's at 10:10am (June 2nd - Sept 1st)
13 sessions for $130 per child
This Learn to Play Hockey program is designed for first time skaters. These sessions are the perfect place to start young hockey players. Players will be separated into groups based upon their age, size, previous hockey training (if any) and present abilities. Instructors will focus on stops, starts, crossovers, backwards skating, stick handling and shooting. Our goal is to introduce every player to the game in a positive and enjoyable learning environment so that they can not only learn the fundamentals of the game, but have a great time doing it as well. This program is coached by Bill Bennett and David Bucci.
